Brian Flores Telling Dolphins Players to Not 'Get Cocky' After Win Over Jets is Laughable
By Jerry Trotta
The Miami Dolphins accomplished the unthinkable on Sunday as they defeated the New York Jets in front of the Hard Rock Stadium crowd to pick up their first win of the 2019 season.
While Brian Flores and the Fins should absolutely be celebrating getting that first dub, the comments that the head coach made on Monday were downright hilarious.
“I think it's human nature,” Flores told reporters regarding the potential of his players becoming too content with their first win.
Hold up, Flores really wants his players to avoid becoming cocky after defeating one of the teams that they'll likely be battling with for the NFL's worst record? We were SO delighted for the Dolphins. We really were. Then Flores came out and uttered this nonsense.
“It’s easy to feel good about a win," Flores continued. "I think it’s something that I need to talk about with our team after really any success. Really it’s not necessarily one win, it’s just success. I’m sure the guys feel good. Everybody feels good. But at the same time, we’ve got to turn the page and move on to the next opponent which is a good opponent.”
We understand that Flores isn't the one asking the questions and we admire that he answered them honestly, but he really should have thought twice before delivering this baloney.
A win is a win and Miami is playing hard for you. Let's not get carried away in the future.
That's all we ask.
