Brian Gutekunst's Explanation for Packers Not Drafting a WR is Ridiculous

Packers fans remain furious with GM Brian Gutekunst following the 2020 NFL Draft. It was widely expected Green Bay would use their first-round pick on a wide receiver, giving Aaron Rodgers another much-needed weapon.
Instead, Gutekunst and Co. used their first pick on signal caller Jordan Love, who was picked to eventually replace Rodgers. To make matters worse, Green Bay didn't draft a single WR. Not one. Even though a record 36 were selected in the draft. Gutekunst explained his reasoning behind this, and it won't lower the blood pressure for any GB supporters who hated the decision.
Here's Brian Gutekunst's full answer explaining why he didn't pick one of the record 36 receivers in the draft. You don't have to like it, but it's a thorough answer: pic.twitter.com/Q1P8yCqVG0

Sorry, Brian. We're just not buying this. Even late in the first round, Green Bay had guys like Tee Higgins there for the taking. He would be able to work magic opposite Davante Adams. Again, GB went with a quarterback, one who won't even see the field for the next 2-4 years.
If you're upset with the Packers right now, think about how Rodgers is feeling. The team went 13-3 last year, and was one win away from the Super Bowl. He had to think the front office was going to get him some help one way or the other in the draft. No such luck for Mr. Rodgers.
By starting the deepest WR draft in recent memory with a first-round QB and ending it without choosing a single receiver in 9 picks, the @Packers only discernible draft strategy appeared to be pissing off @AaronRodgers12 pic.twitter.com/lHyMP8km4t

This 2020 draft class was loaded with incredible receiver talent. For the Packers to not pick a single WR up is senseless. Gutekunst's absurd explanation isn't making things any better either.
