The country is as divided as ever amid the uproar following George Floyd's murder, and on Monday, President Donald Trump took to the podium to address the nation about the mass protests that have engulfed a legion of cities. In sum, Trump vehemently recommended to every governor to deploy the national guard "in sufficient numbers" so that they dominate the streets and put an end to the riots, while invoking a military act from 1807 that most of us had never heard of.

For some reason, retired NFL veteran Brian Urlacher felt that his opinion needed to be heard on this circumstance.

The former Chicago Bears linebacker replied to former NBA star Grant Hill's post on Instagram with a...well, truly a take on Trump's leadership, or lack thereof.

It doesn't come as much of a surprise that Urlacher is backing Trump's management of the national turmoil -- he's a loud supporter of the President -- but the fact that he felt this cringeworthy input was necessary in Hill's space is alarming.

Just before his press conference, the President turned security forces on peaceful protestors that gathered in front of the White House. As numerous videos show, tear gas, flash grenades and rubber bullets were unleashed on the nonviolent demonstrators.

See the problem? The tactics he's describing clearly aren't meant just for nonviolent demonstration.

There's a time and a place for individuals with broad platforms to make their force heard. For Urlacher, this was not one of them, and the vitriol he receives as a result will be justifiable.
