VIDEO: Brian Westbrook Claps Back at Andy Reid's Assertion That Clyde Edwards-Helaire is Better Than Him

Brian Westbrook played under Andy Reid in Philadelphia from 2002-2009 and was one of the faces of the franchise during his Eagles career. That is why he may have been shocked when a quote circulated about Reid claiming new Kansas City Chiefs rookie Clyde Edwards-Helaire was already better than him. Westbrook clapped back and revealed Reid ended up apologizing for the comment.

Westbrook explained how he worked so hard to get to where he was and it was a bit alarming to hear his old coach claim a rookie is already better than him. The quote itself may have been twisted a bit and it is hard to believe Reid and general manager Brett Veach were trying to diminish what Westbrook accomplished.
Brett Veach told Andy Reid to watch some Clyde Edwards-Helaire film and told Reid you’ll see Brian Westbrook. Reid watched. Then got back to Veach and said he’s better than Westbrook.

It seems clear that Veach and Reid were just trying to find a pro comparison for Edwards-Helaire. However, they should both know by now that no retired NFL player is going to settle for such a comment.
