Brock Holt's Contract Details With Brewers Revealed
By Michael Luciano

Brock Holt's time as a Boston Red Sox utility player came to an abrupt end when his No. 12 was given away to Alex Verdugo and the team didn't make a very concerted effort to keep him.
Holt managed to find another employer shortly after, however, as he landed a contract with the Milwaukee Brewers. Holt's contract is a one-year, $3.25 million deal with a $5 million club option for 2021.
Brock Holt contract with #Brewers, per source: One year, $3.25M. Guarantee includes $750K buyout if team does not exercise $5M club option for 2021. Also: $250K each for 400, 425 and 450 plate appearances.

Holt hit .297 with 31 RBI in 87 games with Boston last season. In his seven years with the Red Sox, Holt hit .270 with 23 home runs while making an All-Star team and winning a championship.
Holt mentioned the Brewers proved they wanted him in their squad, which was ultimately the main factor that drove him towards Milwaukee.
Brock Holt had other offers but felt #Brewers were best fit: "You always want to feel wanted, anywhere you go and no matter what you do. I feel like Brewers wanted me to be here and that was a deciding factor for me to get a deal done. I couldn't get more excited to be here now."

Holt didn't have the cleanest divorce from his old squad in Boston, but he's managed to land on his feet with a Brewers team that has as good a chance as anyone to win a wide open NL Central. Be it as a pinch hitter or defensive replacement, Holt will find some way to impact games late in the season.
