What's this? Four-time Pro Bowl cornerback Chris Harris Jr. will have his contract adjusted by the Broncos, giving the team more cap flexibility in the future.

Harris and the Broncos have had disputes over this contract recently that have captivated the media, but headway reportedly has finally been made.

The deal will be restructured so that Harris will see a pay increase this season and will be able to test the waters of free agency in 2020. Although this likely means that the cornerback will be gone after next year, the deal opens up possibilities for John Elway for down the road.

Harris had three interceptions last season, and has 19 career picks, basically guaranteeing he will be highly sought after when he reaches the open market. At 29, Harris still has a few good years left, but the move makes sense for a Broncos team that will be looking for younger options sooner than later.

Harris is very good, especially at slot coverage. The Broncos will likely pay Harris $15 million next season, a steep price to pay for an aging corner, but a necessary move to secure long lasting success in the future.
