Broncos Cut LB Dekoda Watson Just Months After Trading for Him From 49ers

The Denver Broncos just cut a special teams stud...four months after acquiring him at April's NFL Draft.
Dekoda Watson had been making an early impression in Broncos camp, specifically as a reserve inside linebacker and special teams ace. Rather than finding a spot for Watson, however, Denver is surprisingly going in a different direction.
Watson was one of the bright spots in Denver's preseason game against San Francisco, showing excellent tackling ability, even if mostly against reserves in the second half.
The Broncos traded a fifth-round pick to the 49ers in exchange for Watson and a fourth rounder back in April in a move John Elway described as 'exciting'.
“We’re excited about having Dekoda back,” Elway said at the time. “We liked him when he was here [before] he left. We thought that he could bring some outside pass rush."
This had been Watson's second stint with the Broncos, and despite not making the team this time around, it's unlikely he won't have a new suitor soon considering his relative success during training camp.
