Broncos QB Drew Lock Shares Long Phone Call With Peyton Manning in Rare Mentoring Opportunity
By Jack Murphy
After the retirement of future Hall of Famer Peyton Manning, the Denver Broncos have struggled to find their next solution under center. In 2020, the Super Bowl 50 champions may have found someone they can call their next franchise quarterback in Missouri product Drew Lock.
In hopes to be a force to be reckoned with in the NFL, Lock spent roughly 90 minutes talking about football with none other than Peyton Manning.
Manning seemingly tutored Lock on what to look for in film and when to start throwing. Peyton is known as one of the best signal callers to play the game of football, so getting information from him may take Lock's game to the next level.
Not only was Lock able to pick the brain of the elder Manning brother, but he received high praise from another legendary quarterback in John Elway.
Lock only played five games in 2019 but he showed potential as he went 4-1 in that time span. Lock threw for a total of 1020 yards, seven touchdowns and three interceptions. With the adherence to the wise words of Manning, Lock can improve further in his sophomore season.
