Melvin Gordon's Parting Shot at Chargers Will Warm Broncos Fans' Hearts
By Jerry Trotta

When it was revealed Melvin Gordon landed with the Denver Broncos in free agency, it was immediately speculated the 26-year-old running back would be out for revenge in 2020 considering he joined a division rival.
The Los Angeles Chargers famously repelled Gordon's contract demands during a holdout that started last summer and extended into the regular season. The franchise followed that up not only by letting Gordon walk, but by also signing versatile RB Austin Ekeler to a contract extension this offseason.
As a result, Gordon unexpectedly fired off a parting shot at the Chargers and his quotes will surely warm the hearts of Broncos fans.
2/3 Gordon on fans: ““Definitely in Qualcomm there was always a sea of orange. We just didn’t have that many fans. My year coming there that’s when they started talking about the move, so we probably lost some fans that way.'' (more) #9sports

Are these quotes really that petty if they speak the truth? Of course they are.
Gordon could have held his head high and thanked Chargers fans for their support over the years, but he chose not to. The two-time Pro Bowler is spitting facts, but is also subliminally taking shots at the franchise that selected him with the No. 15 overall pick back in 2015.
3/3 Gordon on fans: “You could make excuses saying the fans played a part in our wins and losses at home, but I don’t really think it did. It was more so for morale. Third downs, things like that having our fans make it noisy for the opponent, we didn’t have that.'' #9sports

Gordon is clearly doing everything in his power to win over the hearts of Broncos fans. Castigating the Chargers is a foolproof blueprint to do just that, so expect the former Wisconsin star to fit in seamlessly in the Mile High City.
