Broncos Are One NFL Draft Day Trade Away From Making the Playoffs
By Michael Luciano

The Kansas City Chiefs are favored to once again win the AFC West, but which team ends up in second place is anybody's guess, at this point. One team that has a chance to not only compete with Kansas City, but also sneak into the playoffs is the Denver Broncos, as they could build on a very successful offseason by dominating the 2020 NFL Draft.
After signing former Chargers running back Melvin Gordon, the Broncos are considering giving second-year quarterback Drew Lock more weapons by trading up from the No. 15 pick in the draft to pick either Alabama's Jerry Jeudy or Oklahoma's CeeDee Lamb.
Elway made four draft-day trades in 2019, the most he's made in any draft in his nine years leading the Broncos.

If Lock can get more quality wide receivers, this is a playoff team. Vic Fangio had that defense playing extremely well during the end of the year, and Bradley Chubb returning to full strength will allow both him and Von Miller to shine.
Denver will only go as far, however, as Lock takes them. While he went 4-1 as a starter and showed off a howitzer of an arm, he'll need to keep building on his successful rookie year if Denver is to make some noise this year.

Lock has a lot on his plate, even in his second year and first full season as the starter. If the promise that he showed as a rookie carries over, Denver should be a Wild Card lock, given the skill position talent around Lock and Fangio's relentless defense.
And all it'll take to ensure Lock has the ammo he needs is one more draft day deal.
