The Broncos Should Sign Robby Anderson to Help Drew Lock
By Michael Luciano
While most of the biggest offensive free agents have already found new teams for 2020 and beyond, former New York Jets wide receiver Robby Anderson is still out there for any team looking to add a speedy deep threat to their wide receiving corps.
While the New York Jets are making a strong push to retain the former undrafted free agent out of Temple, Anderson's best fit from a scheme standpoint might be the Denver Broncos.
They might have the backfield sorted out between the addition of Melvin Gordon and the presence of Phillip Lindsay, but any Pat Shurmur offense likes to pass the ball, which creates a need at wide receiver for Drew Lock and the Broncos.
Courtland Sutton is excellent, but DaeSean Hamilton and Tim Patrick are simply not acceptable No. 2 and No. 3 receivers on a team with playoff aspirations, Furthermore, Anderson gives Denver's wideouts a burst of speed that the likes of Sutton and Hamilton just do not have.
If Denver doesn't plan on using the No. 15 pick in the draft on a wide receiver, it should be all over Anderson.
Following the emergence of Lock last season and their domination of the 2020 free agent frenzy, Denver is poised to be a legit playoff contender next season, and adding a deep threat like Anderson could take its offense into the stratosphere.
