Cleveland Browns general manager Andrew Berry hasn't even been a full year on the job, and he's drastically improved the much-maligned football franchise. He secured top free agents in Jack Conklin and Austin Hooper, and had one of the better draft classes in the league. What else could he do to improve the team?

Well, Berry can address their positional need: linebacker. And he can fix the lack of depth at the position by signing former Philadelphia Eagle Nigel Bradham.

When looking at Cleveland's depth chart, the starting linebackers in their 4-3 scheme are Mack Wilson, Sione Takitaki, and Jacob Phillips, all of whom were drafted by the team in the past two years. There's simply no experience on the depth chart, and if today's NFL proves anything, that's going to create problems for the entire defense.

Bradham not only adds veteran experience, but he'll bring some grit to Cleveland's defense. In his four years under Eagles defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz, Bradham recorded 348 tackles (21 for loss), 22 passes defensed, 11 quarterback hits, five sacks, and three interceptions. More importantly, however, Bradham posted 61 tackles and an interception while playing with a bum ankle.

The Browns would be wise to sign Bradham. He'll come at a cheap price, he's above average in coverage, and he can mentor the younger players in the linebackers room. While Browns fans are clamoring for Berry to sign a Jadeveon Clowney or Everson Griffen, the best move is to ink Bradham to a short-term deal and improve a position of need.
