George Floyd's death sparked a massive response in the United States and throughout the globe, with many who did not even know him moved to action against the racial prejudice that brought about his death. Athletes have certainly stepped up to the plate too to voice their concerns with what's been going on around the country.
This includes Cleveland Browns quarterback Case Keenum, who was the latest to make his voice heard on social media with a powerful message dedicating his efforts to combating racial injustices in America.
Keenum posted a very personal message that recounts on his Christian faith, reflects on Floyd's death, as well as Ahmaud Arbery, while concluding with a commitment on how to help the communities close to him.
In a sentiment shared by many, Keenum states, "I've spent time listening, learning, and growing in my understanding about the injustices the black community has endured for far too many years. I feel called to do more."
Hearkening on his background in faith and the Houston and Minneapolis cities,
Keenum concludes his message with a personal devotion to fight issues within these communities, while challenging all others to do the same.
As he continues his grind on the field this upcoming season, Keenum has dedicated himself to becoming a better man off the field as well, a step that will undoubtedly be followed, as it already has, by many throughout the NFL.
