Browns Continue to Blow it This Offseason by Losing Coveted Assistant to Falcons

The hits keep on coming for the Cleveland Browns. On top of searching for the franchise's sixth head coach since 2013, they'll be losing some highly-regarded assistants from Freddie Kitchens' staff.
According to reports, the Atlanta Falcons have brought defensive passing game coordinator and secondary coach Joe Whitt.
The #Falcons have hired former #Browns defensive passing game coordinator and secondary coach Joe Whitt, source said. A big hire for Dan Quinn.

Whitt, a longtime assistant in Green Bay (where he was a member of the Super Bowl XLV-winning team), joined Cleveland in 2018 and was instrumental in the development of former No. 4 overall pick Denzel Ward.
This is a rough loss considering the Browns' passing defense ranked seventh in the NFL this season and was a bright spot on a team that was disappointing.
The Browns are now the only organization in the NFL with a vacancy at the head coaching position. Whitt's departure is possibly a sign that the team is leaning towards a candidate who will select his own assistants, but if that's not the case, nobody can blame Whitt for jumping ship after what's gone down.
No more need for Cleveland to rush their head coaching hire; Browns have their choice of the field.

With yet another departure, the Browns continue to stack up their losses like poker chips. There pretty much aren't any viable head coaching candidates remaining on the market, so the team could be in trouble yet again in 2020.
