Browns Dismiss VP of Player Personnel Alonzo Highsmith as Eliot Wolf's Status Remains up in Air
By Alex Coffman

The Cleveland Browns continue with their perpetual front office clearing, as the newest name on the chopping block in Alonzo Highsmith.
Dustin Fox reported the departure of Highsmith, who only took the reins as Vice President of Player Personnel in 2018.
The #Browns and VP of Player Personnel Alonzo Highsmith have mutually agreed to part ways, per @DustinFox37.

The firings might not stop there, as the Browns are in an "ongoing discussion" about where assistant GM Elliot Wolf, formerly of the Green Bay Packers, fits into new GM Andrew Berry's plans.
Update: Wolf has not been officially informed of his future in Cleveland. A source says there is a ongoing discussion about whether Wolf stays or goes under current setup. https://t.co/100FcLKpdh

Wolf spent 12 years in the Green Bay Packers organization with Mike McCarthy, before accepting the assistant GM role with the Browns last season. There was a lot of speculation that Wolf and McCarthy could team back up in Dallas when the former Packers coach was hired. Now those talks could really heat up, with Wolf potentially out of a job.
Firing Wolf and Highsmith makes sense, as you can imagine that new GM Andrew Berry would want to build a front office that he knows and trusts. This means we could see an entirely new front office in Cleveland by the time the 2020 season begins, and a gradual change in the roster as Berry and coach Kevin Stefanski try to form a game plan moving forward.
