Browns' Dog Mascot 'Swagger' to Retire on Sunday
By Parker White

It's been a rough start to the season for the Cleveland Browns, but they have to play some inspired football on Sunday, as the team's mascot dog, Swagger, is retiring following the game.
Swagger, a 145-pound bullmastiff, has been with the Browns since 2014. No worries, though, as the gig is staying in the family. SJ, who is only 11 months old, will take over Swagger's duties for the rest of the season and beyond.
After 5+ seasons, Swagger will make his final run this Sunday against the Seahawks and pass on the tradition to his son, SJ

“Swagger has been a huge part of our team since 2014 and our fans absolutely love him,” said Carlos Oseguera, Browns Senior Director, Fan Experience & Special Events. “Between his event appearances, pre-game duties on Dawg Pound Drive and his running out of the home team tunnel on game days, he’s been the utmost professional through his years of service. We wish Swagger a happy retirement and know that SJ will carry on the family tradition beginning November 10.”

Swagger missed only one home game back in 2017 over his five-year tenure, and that's because it was over in London. However, Swagger's British cousin, Otto, filled in for the Browns while they were overseas.
SJ will take over the job and start running through the tunnel, among other things, beginning Nov. 10 against the Buffalo Bills.
