The Cleveland Browns face a pivotal draft after some shoddy secondary and offensive line play helped sink their ship during a disappointing 2019 season. Provided that head coach Kevin Stefanski and GM Andrew Berry address the back end of the defense early in the 2020 draft, like ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. thinks they will, they could snag a truly elite defensive back in Round 2.

In Kiper's two-round mock draft, he thinks the Browns will take LSU safety Grant Delpit No. 41 overall.

Delpit was hampered by an ankle injury last year, which really highlighted his struggles with tackling and physicality on tape. That shouldn't stop Cleveland from using a premium pick on him, given his rare range in zone coverage.

A bigger safety at 6-2 and 211 pounds with speed, instincts, and a high football IQ, Delpit won the Jim Thorpe Award as the best defensive back in the country last year. That production in the SEC, coupled with his ball hawk mentality, could allow him to start in Year 1.

The No. 10 overall pick should be used on beefing up the offensive line, while Berry should considering using the No. 41 overall pick on a defensive back to help out a porous secondary. Given his ability to cover ground on the back end, Delpit would be a perfect fit in Cleveland.
