Browns GM John Dorsey Releases Statement Supporting Myles Garrett After NFL Upholds Suspension

Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett's indefinite suspension for hitting Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph with his own helmet at the end of last week's Thursday Night Football matchup has been upheld by the NFL. He won't be playing any football until 2020, and will have to apply for reinstatement with the league before he's eligible again.
On the occasion of Garrett's appeal being denied Thursday, Browns general manager John Dorsey has released his statement regarding the situation as a whole.
The GM says that the organization's "support for Garrett has not wavered, and went on to compliment the character of the former No. 1 overall pick. He added that the team has turned their attention toward their Week 12 matchup vs. the Miami Dolphins and will not allow the TNF saga to be a distraction.
The Browns still have a chance to make the playoffs as a Wild Card team, but they will be forced to attempt to do so without one of their very best players. Notably, they were already thin on the defensive line thanks in large part to Dorsey's decision to deal away a pair of solid edge rushers before the season, Emmanuel Ogbah and Genard Avery.
Dorsey's endorsement of Garrett's character and integrity won't do much to change the public view of him in the short term, but it does indicate that he is willing to give him more than simply a second chance once his suspension comes to an end. The Browns are fully committed to circling the wagons around their guy.
