The Cleveland Browns were dead and buried not even a month ago, but Baker Mayfield has caught fire and they're right back in the thick of things.

The Browns crushed the Miami Dolphins 41-24 in a game that wasn't as close as the scoreline would indicate, while the previously 6-4 Oakland Raiders were thumped 34-3 by the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium.

The Pittsburgh Steelers might currently occupy a playoff spot, but the Browns have a chance to make it into the Wild Card when you look at their schedule to end the season.

They play Pittsburgh, who could start Devlin Hodges, in Pittsburgh next week. From there, they play winless Cincinnati twice and the up-and-down Arizona Cardinals. They also will welcome Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens to Cleveland, whom they have already beaten this season.

While it seemed almost impossible for Cleveland to have a shot at the playoffs after the start to their season they had to endure, Mayfield and Freddie Kitchens have somehow kept this locker room together, and Cleveland is playing their best football of the season.

And with the Raiders crashing pitifully against the Jets and set to face the Chiefs next week, the Browns are in prime position to knot things up in the Wild Card race.
