Browns Punter 'Scottish Hammer' Jamie Gillan Showed Up Sunday Wearing an Actual Kilt
By Michael Luciano
You knew this was coming sooner or later. The only Scottish player in the NFL HAD to show up to a game in a kilt.
Cleveland Browns punter Jamie Gillan finally gave in to the temptation, and rolled up before Cleveland's game against Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens in the traditional garb of his native Scotland.
Gillan, a 27-year-old rookie from Inverness who signed with the Browns as an undrafted free agent out of Arkansas-Pine Bluff, allegedly popped three footballs in a pre-draft workout. So far this season, Gillan ranks 14th in the league in yards per punt, with his season-long 71-yarder the third-longest punt in the league this season.
If there was ever player worthy of the "Scottish Hammer" nickname, Gillan fits the bill.
In a season that has been a complete catastrophe for the Browns, Gillan has been one of the bright spots. We wouldn't expect Cleveland's resident Scot to end the season in any other sort of attire.
