Browns Releasing More Players to Free up Cap Space Ahead of New League Year
By Karl Rasmussen
The Cleveland Browns are looking to spend this offseason, and in order to do so the organization was forced to part ways with a few members of the roster.
On Monday, the Browns announced their decision to cut linebacker Ardarius Taylor. Shortly after, it was revealed they'd also be moving on from the likes of center Eric Kush, cornerback T.J. Carrie and tight end Demetrius Harris.
Perhaps the most surprising cut of the bunch is Carrie, who penned a four-year deal with the Browns back in 2018. Last season, Carrie started six of 16 games, recording one interception, 52 tackles and one sack.
Harris, 28, logged 15 receptions for 149 yards and three TDs in 2019 and also started six games for the team.
The moves are expected to free up around $13 million in cap space for the Browns this offseason, which could go a long way in locking down a deal for a star free agent when the new league year kicks off on March 18.
