Browns Reportedly Might Not Hire Offensive Coordinator
By Jerry Trotta

The Cleveland Browns have made no progress in their search for an offensive coordinator following Todd Monken's decision to join forces with Kirby Smart at Georgia.
Well, NFL insider Ian Rapoport understands that new head coach Kevin Stefanski, given his success in Minnesota and the Browns shocking ineptitude in 2019, might just take over the play-calling duties himself.
More on the searches:

— The #Browns have hired former #Dolphins OC Chad O’Shea as their new WRs coach and passing game coordinator.
— Cleveland is interviewing Rich Scangarello this week, as @MaryKayCabot reported, but they may not have an OC

Rapoport notes that Cleveland has shown interest in 49ers passing and run game coordinators Mike LaFleur and Mike McDaniel. However, the fact that the duo are under contract could present a problem.
Additionally, the Browns are slated to interview former Broncos OC Rich Scangarello for the same position this upcoming week, though it wouldn't be shocking if Stefanski considers appointing him elsewhere on the offense.
Stefanski hired former Dolphins OC Chad O'Shea as the Browns new receivers coach and passing game coordinator. Could he have something similar in mind for Scangarello?
#Browns Chad O’Shea previously worked with new HC Kevan Stefanski in Minnesota from 2006-2008 serving multiple roles on the offensive side of the ball. Most recently was WRs coach for #GoPats (2009-2018) and OC for #FinsUp in 2019.

A solid addition to the staff. https://t.co/XYZ5WPsIaZ
At this rate, nothing is out of the realm of possibility, and we certainly wouldn't blame Stefanski for wanting full control of the playbook after Baker Mayfield's startling regression last season.
