Browns Safety Jermaine Whitehead Got Suspended From Twitter for NSFW Threats to Fans
By Scott Rogust
The Cleveland Browns had a Sunday to forget, as they dropped to 2-6 on the season following their inexcusable loss to the Denver Broncos.
If one play is to encapsulate the team's loss, it's the horrific tackling attempts on Broncos tight end Noah Fant's 75-yard touchdown. One of the guilty individuals was safety Jermaine Whitehead, who decided to take his anger out on fans following the loss, resulting in his Twitter account getting suspended.
Whitehead targeted Browns radio and television analyst Dustin Fox, who criticized the tackling attempts by Cleveland's defensive backs on the aforementioned play. The Browns safety challenged him to a fight while calling Fox a "cracker."
The story only gets worse from here.
Whitehead set his sights on Twitter users who critiqued his playing ability. On numerous occasions, Whitehead scrolled through the social media site to find those individuals, threatening to "shoot" and "kill" them.
These tweets all came withing 15 minutes following Cleveland's loss to Denver. If there's one rule when using social media, it's to never log in when you're angry.
But this is something way more serious. This is an NFL football player essentially handing out death threats to fans on social media for millions to see.
There have been no statements made by the Cleveland Browns or the NFL regarding these incidents, but one can expect them to come soon.
