Browns Set to Meet With Ex-Packers DL Mike Daniels Thursday

After striking out in their chase for an impact defensive lineman last time around when Gerald McCoy hit the open market, another recent cap casualty may eventually fill that gap in Cleveland.

Following Mike Daniels' ousting from Green Bay, his first free agent visit will be to the Browns, and it'll take place on Thursday.

Daniels is still a standout, departing from Green Bay somewhat unexpectedly, and for purely financial reasons this past Wednesday. The 30-year-old immediately professed his desire to join a Super Bowl contender, a designation the Browns are certainly at the fringes of.

He's now available for money alone after a trade failed to materialize -- and yes, the Browns were in those discussions, as well.

The Patriots and Chiefs certainly make sense as Daniels competitors, so it will likely be best not to let him leave the facility on Thursday.

Daniels recorded 18 tackles and a pair of sacks in 2018 while playing in 10 games.
