Browns Should Question Kevin Stefanski's Legitimacy as Head Coaching Candidate After Vikings Loss to 49ers
After a disappointing 6-10 season, the Cleveland Browns are looking for a new head coach to lead their team back into the playoffs for the first time in 18 years. While that search is nearing its conclusion, they should pass over Kevin Stefanski, whom they were previously interested in.
Stefanski led the Minnesota Vikings offense to 25.5 points-per-game this year, good for seventh in the NFL. However, when it mattered most, the offense floundered, only scoring 10 points Saturday in the playoff loss to the San Francisco 49ers. Some Vikings fans had some fun at the expense of their offensive coordinator after the embarrassing performance:
Wow. You know it's rough when your own fans want to get rid of you that badly.
You can't blame them though, as that was a pretty awful performance by the offense, and naturally the blame goes on the man who is in charge of that side of the ball.
And it keeps getting worse. Fans are really having a field day with Stefanski.
Truthfully, though, the team just did not have a good game. Stefanski has done his part as offensive coordinator, as the team's offense has been very good with him at the front of the helm.
While he may not be the perfect fit for the Browns, there is no doubt that he should be an offensive coordinator in the NFL. When looking for a head coach, however, Cleveland has every right to be picky given what they've been through of late.
They've already taken this wrong...might as well get it right. Stefanski isn't the guy.
