Browns Targeting 2 Seahawks Execs for GM Role

The Cleveland Browns have blown the whole thing up and are starting over once again in 2020. Owner Jimmy Haslam has vowed to get it right this time, as he has claimed before, and all fans can do is hope he hires the right people this time around.
While the Browns are still looking for a coach, Haslam is reportedly looking at two members of the Seattle Seahawks front office for the GM role.
With the #Seahawks facing the #Eagles, keep an ear out for Seattle’s Trent Kirchner and Scott Fitterer in the forthcoming #Browns GM search. Sources say Jimmy Haslam admires the Hawks’ sustained success. Depending on who the coach is, those two could emerge as strong candidates.

Both Trent Kirchner and Scott Fitterer are listed as co-directors of player personnel on the Seahawks official website. Both men are part of an organization that has used the draft, free agency and trades to build a consistent contender out west. The team has only missed the playoffs twice since 2010.
On the #Browns approach to hire a coach first, then GM: It’s a bit of a growing trend in the NFL. The #Redskins did it. In the playoffs currently, 49ers, Seahawks, Bills, Saints, Chiefs, #Patriots, #Texans all have a head coach at the top of the power structure. It can work.

The ultimate choice of GM will be influenced by whoever the Browns hire as head coach. That is the structure Haslam decided upon and if he wants to actually commit to a plan for once, his top candidates may not align with the coach's and he must accept that.
The Browns are going to search far and wide for a new coach and GM. Plucking someone from a top organization like the Seahawks is not a bad option.
