Browns Trade Rookie Quarterback David Blough to Lions
By Karl Rasmussen

David Blough, unfortunately, didn't do enough in preseason to impress the Browns, and has thus been shown the exit door by the Browns-- though he didn't fall victim to the 53-man roster cut.
According to Adam Schefter, the Browns have dealt the former Purdue standout to the Detroit Lions in exchange for a 2020 seventh-round pick swap.
Cleveland traded QB David Blough to the Lions, with the two teams swapping 7ths in 2022, per source. But Lions add another QB.

Effectively, the Browns are banking on the fact that they'll have a better record than the Lions in 2019, and thus have agreed to the pick swap.
Blough went undrafted out of Purdue in the 2019 draft before latching on with Cleveland. He struggled in his final preseason outing, going 11-for-15 with a pair of interceptions, ultimately losing out to Drew Stanton and Garrett Gilbert in the quarterback room.

Across four seasons at Purdue, Blough completed 61.4% of his pass attempts, throwing for 64 touchdowns and 41 interceptions. His accuracy was a major issue in his sophomore season, during which he threw 21 interceptions.
He'll hope to get an opportunity in Detroit, where he'll compete for third-string duties with the likes of Tom Savage and former AAF standout Luis Perez.
