Bruins' Chris Wagner to Miss Game 4 After Being Sent for Tests

The Boston Bruins went into Carolina for Game 3 and came out with a win and a 3-0 series lead, and now have the Carolina Hurricanes on the verge of elimination.

With that, the Bruins can taste a Stanley Cup Finals berth for the first time since 2013, and need one more win to reach the plateau.

They will have to try and close out the four-game sweep of the Hurricanes on the road without one of their forwards, however, losing Chris Wagner.

Wagner injured his right arm when he blocked a slap shot from Hurricanes defenseman Justin Faulk late in the third period Tuesday night. The shot appeared to strike him right in the area of no protection, between the elbow pad and the glove, causing him to immediately fall to the ice.

Wagner instantly saw the trainer when he returned to the Boston bench, and left the bench for the locker room after the next stoppage of play. After the game, he returned back to Boston for further tests, and will miss at least Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals.

Wagner has two goals in three games for the Bruins in their series against the Hurricanes.

Wagner will be replaced by Noel Acciari on the fourth line alongside Sean Kuraly and Joakim Nordstrom for the time that Wagner will miss, as the Bruins look to win the Eastern Conference and battle for the Stanley Cup.
