Bucks SF Khris Middleton Reportedly Out Several Weeks With Left Leg Injury
By Michael Luciano
The Milwaukee Bucks were just dealt a blow in their quest to stake their claim at the top of the Eastern Conference.
Khris Middleton, who just signed a massive five-year contract in the offseason, will miss several weeks with a left leg injury. The silver lining for Bucks fans is the fact that Middleton didn't have any structural damage and will likely not miss more than the initial timetable of 3-4 weeks.
Middleton is averaging 18.5 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game this season, although those numbers are a bit hampered by the fact he left a game against the Oklahoma City Thunder after just 22 minutes.
Some roasted the Bucks for shelling out $178 million over five years for Middleton when Giannis Antetokounmpo is a free agent in a few years, but Middleton has more than proven himself as a reliable contributor alongside the 2018-19 MVP.
Middleton, a rangy sharpshooter with intriguing defensive versatility, is the perfect second star on a Giannis-led team. The Greek Freak will have to tread water without his best running mate for the time being, however.
