Bucs Fans Have to Be Distraught After Bruce Arians' Comments on Jameis Winston Contract

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are a 3-6 football team, performing well below expectations, especially considering they brought in Bruce Arians to be their head coach. Unfortunately, the QB whisperer has not been able to unlock Jameis Winston's full potential, as the former No. 1 overall pick continues to make the same mistakes week after week.
However, Arians doesn't appear to be giving up on Winston as the franchise quarterback, which should have Bucs fans scratching their head.
“If he plays like he has the last two weeks for the rest of the season, I'd say there's a really good chance,” said Arians.
Winston's rookie contract expires at the end of the season, and while some Bucs fans will be hoping to see No. 3 shown the exit door, Arians' comments suggest the team will be retaining the Florida State product.
Sure, Winston flashes moments of utter brilliance from time to time, but you can almost guarantee the proceeding drive will feature the 25-year-old making a boneheaded error.
In nine games this season, Winston has completed 59.7% of his passes, his lowest mark since his rookie campaign. He's thrown for 2,765 yards with 17 touchdowns and a league-high 14 interceptions.
The high interception rate is nothing new for Winston, who has thrown 72 picks since entering the league in 2015. He has never thrown fewer than 19 interceptions in a single season, a figure he's all but guaranteed to surpass this year.
That's not the kind of play you want to see from your starting quarterback, even if your head coach is strongly in your corner.
