Bucs GM's Latest Revelation About Tom Brady Will Crush Patriots Fans
By Michael Luciano
If you had predicted at the beginning of the 2019 season that Tom Brady would not only leave the New England Patriots, but sign with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, fans and experts would have though you were insane. However, because 2020 is stranger than fiction, that's exactly what happened, as Brady signed a two-year contract with Bruce Arians' squad.
Buccaneers GM Jason Licht explained on "Get Up" this morning that Brady wanted to come to Tampa as much as the Bucs themselves chased him, as Licht claims TB12 was the one who was giving the team the sales pitch on why Tampa is the right place for him.
It certainly doesn't sound like Brady ever really considered re-signing in New England if he was so eager to come to Tampa.
Tampa Bay never seemed like a serious landing spot for Brady in the early stages of the offseason, as the Los Angeles Chargers and Las Vegas Raiders looked like the two places he could end up.
However, the abundance of weapons the Buccaneers have, coupled with the culture Arians is building, ultimately steered Brady towards Tampa.
Brady's questionable relationship with Bill Belichick might have accelerated his departure from New England, a move that turned the Buccaneers from irrelevant to must-see TV in one fell swoop.
