Buster Posey Has Great Text Reaction to Madison Bumgarner Signing With the D-Backs
By Scott Rogust
The baseball world was stunned to find out that free agent left-handed pitcher Madison Bumgarner didn't sign for a $100 million-plus contract, let alone with a contender.
The career-long San Francisco Giant remained in the NL West, but signed on with the Arizona Diamondbacks on a five-year, $85 million deal. Giants fans undoubtedly feel down in the dumps after losing the former 2014 World Series MVP.
Catcher Buster Posey shares those same sentiments, but in a text to Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic, he said he looks forward to competing against Bumgarner for the foreseeable future.
While obviously bummed that Bumgarner is no longer wearing the same team colors anymore, Posey had nothing but great things to say about his now-ex teammate.
Bumgarner and Posey made their major league debuts together in 2009, and have created one of the more dominant pitcher-catcher duos in the past decade.
It's going to be weird seeing the two on opposite sides, the memories the two have created for the San Francisco Giants fan base will never be forgotten.
Even so, seeing Madison Bumgarner in an Arizona Diamondbacks uniform is going to take some getting used to.
