Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes won the 2018 NFL MVP last season thanks to his sensational performances, as he threw for over 5,000 yards and 50 touchdowns. He edged out Saints quarterback Drew Brees in the voting, and heading into 2019, Mahomes is a favorite to claim the award in consecutive years, according to the Caesars Entertainment sportsbook.

The Chiefs' cannon-armed signal-caller has 7/2 MVP odds, leading a crop of elite NFL quarterbacks that include familiar names like Tom Brady, Carson Wentz, and Philip Rivers, who each have 7/1 odds to win the award. Interestingly, Browns second year quarterback Baker Mayfield has top-10 odds to win the MVP at 9/1.

Mahomes led the Chiefs all the way to the AFC Championship game in 2018 before falling to the eventual Super Bowl champion New England Patriots in overtime. His status as an MVP favorite makes a lot of sense given all the no-look passes and strong throws he's made in just 17 regular season games started for his career. With Mahomes at quarterback for the Chiefs, they'll be locked into MVP-caliber play at the most important position for years to come.
