Cam Newton Claims He Has 7 Kids and We Had No Idea
By Jerry Trotta
It's pretty wild to think that so many NFL teams have written off Cam Newton after an injury-riddled campaign in 2019. The former MVP's incredible nine-year run as the franchise cornerstone of the Carolina Panthers came to an unceremonious end earlier this offseason, and he's somehow been unable to find a new home in the subsequent months as we enter the final stretch of June.
What's more surprising than that? We're glad you asked, because Newton revealed on Instagram this past weekend that he is the father of seven kids.
"A daddy isn’t defined as the man who makes the child (not in all instances) but rather a MAN who extends his hands and time to help with the child’s raising and his heart to LOVE the child through anything!" read Newton's gibberish-font caption. "Blood doesn’t always make you DADDY being a dad comes from the heart. Anybody can make a baby but it takes a real man to raise a child! Kudos to all the real men worldwide happy Father’s Day to us."
How many diehard Newton fans can honestly say that they knew he had seven kids? The list can't be very long, and it really speaks volumes to how privately the three-time Pro Bowler keeps his non-football life, which is apparently very busy!
We didn't think it was possible for a fellow NFL quarterback to give Philip Rivers -- who has nine children -- a run for his money in the parenting department, but here we are. You learn something new every day.
