VIDEO: Cam Newton Says Panthers Gave up on Him in Instagram Clip
By Brady Williams

With the Carolina Panthers releasing Cam Newton, the former first-overall draft pick has an uncertain future. It's unclear what uniform he'll be wearing next season, but one of his latest Instagram posts would suggest he's not too fond of Carolina anymore. In the second video of a post about his workout, he exclaims to someone off camera, "They gave up on me."
"All I know is work." Newton says, "That's all I know."
Five years ago, Newton was named NFL MVP. Since then, he's had a fall from grace. He only participated in two games in 2019 before being placed on injured reserve with a foot injury. Carolina finally released him after signing quarterback Teddy Bridgewater.
"Everything about it, since Cam Newton suffered his Lisfranc fracture to when he was released a couple of days ago, was the height of disrespect and as disrespectful as I've seen a star player, a franchise icon, treated in recent sports history." — @getnickwright pic.twitter.com/nWdxtdwkKT

So far, no concrete rumors or reports have come out about where the 30-year-old signal caller will go next. He was publicly working out with Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Tyrod Taylor, leading some to believe that he could make a move out west, but it's all speculation at this point.
In the meantime, Newton seems motivated, and it looks like the Panthers' lack of faith is a driving factor.
