Cam Newton Posts Inspirational Response to Tough Injury News on Instagram

Give Cam Newton credit, he's one hell of a teammate.
The former MVP was placed on injured reserve on Tuesday, thwarting any attempt at a comeback this season. While his future in Carolina is surely up for grabs, Newton is still supporting his teammates, commenting on the Panthers official designation.
We never want to presume, but this reads part supportive teammate and part goodbye. If the Panthers cut Newton this offseason they can save nearly $20 million, which is an enticing offer given the emergence of Kyle Allen and Newton's inability to stay healthy.
Cam's style of play doesn't lend itself well to longevity. Even as he's emerged as a passer in recent years, Newton still relies heavily on the run game at times and takes hits he has no business bring upon himself.
At his peak, Newton was a revolutionary player. He almost single-handedly won Carolina a Super Bowl, a feat which would've been the first in franchise history. The sudden fall of Cam is a sad yet telling tale. Newton's aged poorly, and was willing to put it all on the line (including his body) in his prime. This is the end result, for now.
