Cam Newton Reportedly May Need Another Surgery That Will Keep Him Out Until March
By Michael Luciano

With one crushing blow on a Monday Night football game exactly one year to the day ago, Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker TJ Watt might have changed the course of the Carolina Panthers franchise.
Cam Newton suffered a shoulder injury in that game, and he clearly hasn't fully recovered from it. Throw in a Lisfranc injury that will cost him the remainder of the season, and Cam's injury woes have gradually began to eat away at his on-field performance.
Now on Injured Reserve, #Panthers QB Cam Newton is considering surgery after all... with hopes of being fully healthy in March. It would be an 8-10 week recovery. My story: https://t.co/7WuzFxQS1r

With a potential procedure on his foot looming, Carolina might have to cut their losses.
Newton failed to throw a touchdown pass in Carolina's 0-2 start to the season against the Rams and Buccaneers. Kyle Allen has proven that he's at the very least better than an injured Newton.
With the injuries mounting and his contract now officially moving into albatross territory, Carolina might have no choice but to ride the Allen wave for as long as it lasts and send Newton elsewhere.

"I have to be better. No matter the physical condition I'm in, no matter what foot, shoulder. I didn't get the job done."

When fully healthy last year, Cam proved that he still has plenty left in the tank. However, given his injuries, contract situation, and the play of Allen, this might be the last year Cam suits up in Carolina.
