Cam Reddish Meeting With Spurs Fuels Draft Trade Speculation
By Parker White
The San Antonio Spurs hold the 19th and 29th picks in the first round of Thursday's NBA Draft. But could they be looking to move up?
Duke winger Cam Reddish, who is widely expected to land in the lottery, has said that he has met with the Spurs.
Reddish will almost certainly be off the board by the No. 19 pick, but the Spurs still seemingly have him on their radar. Either they have a feeling that he's going to plummet, or perhaps they're trying to finagle a trade in order to move into the lottery.
Despite an inconsistent freshman campaign at Duke, oft being out-shined by Zion Williamson and R.J. Barrett, Reddish has the tools to be a very good pro. He can shoot the long ball and his length is something teams are looking for on the defensive end of the floor.
It'll be interesting to monitor the Spurs on draft day and whether or not they try to move up and grab Reddish. With San Antonio's tendency for developing talent, they would be an ideal landing spot for the 19-year-old, as he's regarded as one of the most boom-or-bust candidates in the draft.
