VIDEO: Cameron Maybin Draws First Blood Against Rays With Huge Solo Jack
By Scott Rogust
The New York Yankees have already clinched the AL East Division, but they're looking to compete for the No. 1 seed-- and break the hearts of the rival Tampa Bay Rays. On Tuesday night, the Yankees struck first at Tropicana Field thanks to a solo homer from outfielder Cameron Maybin, who sent it to dead-center field and gave New York the early 1-0 lead.
That is now Maybin's 10th home run of the season, which makes him the 14th player on this Yankees team to hit double-digit dingers.
You guessed it, that's an official MLB single-season record. The New York Yankees are really living up to that Bronx Bombers moniker.
