Cameron Maybin Reveals He Warned Yankees About Astros Sign-Stealing Before ALCS

Cameron Maybin has the unique resume of spending 2017 with the Houston Astros and 2019 with the New York Yankees. That meant he was fully aware of Houston's sign-stealing ways when he was with New York in the 2019 ALCS.
Maybin has now come out and claimed he gave his team a heads up of what the Astros may have been doing to gain an advantage.
Was told that Cameron Maybin is the only ex-Astro who went to the Yankees and informed them they needed to watch out for sign stealing. His comments to them were fairly general, but he told them more than Beltran did, which was nothing. https://t.co/IgQ3Vj4kFz

Maybin is now a member of the Detroit Tigers and as the above tweet shows, he is willing to talk to his teammates about what happened in Houston.
Giving the Yankees a heads up does not absolve Maybin of any blame for how he benefitted from the scheme in 2017. He did, however, join the team late in the 2017 season.

What is important to note from this latest news is that Carlos Beltran reportedly said nothing to his Yankees teammates. He was clearly covering himself and did not want to reveal any knowledge of such a scheme if it could ultimately incriminate him.
Maybin warning the Yankees did not lead to a series win. But, it does show how former Astros players around the league may have been spreading the word about what was going on in Houston.
