Cameron Maybin Runs on Field and Hopes to Begin Rehab Assignment Next Week
By Parker White

New York Yankees veteran outfielder Cameron Maybin went down with a calf strain three weeks ago, and the best way to figure out if he's healthy and close to returning is for him to run.
Maybin did just that on Saturday before the game.

On top of running on the field, Maybin took batting practice and hopes to begin a minor league rehab assignment in about a week. Maybin still needs to run the bases, but this was the "first time he ran at 100 percent."
Cameron Maybin (calf strain) hit, ran and threw before today’s game. This was first time he ran at 100 percent on the field since suffering his injury. Has yet to run the bases. Says he’s second-fastest in the clubhouse now; Brett Gardner has him since he’s only 98% healthy now.

Maybin was a nice replacement for the Yankees when they were without Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton due to injury. Even with Judge back, Maybin has a vital role on this team as a bench bat and fourth outfielder.
In 42 games, the 32-year-old outfielder was slashing .314/.391/.500 with five home runs and 14 RBI.
