Capitals Reportedly Interested in Possible Reunion With Marcus Johansson
By Adam Godfrey
Marcus Johansson only just joined the Bruins from the Devils at the NHL trade deadline, but he could be on the move again soon.
Johansson, an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season, has caught the eye of many teams with his impressive postseason play. Among the teams expected to court Johansson in free agency are the Washington Capitals, despite having parted ways with him after the 2017 season.
Johansson is currently playing for his next contract from an NHL team, and is putting on quite a show for potential suitors. Washington reportedly sits atop that list, as they are intrigued over the possibility of reuniting with the 28-year-old forward.
The Washington Capitals have a handful of free agents that could find new teams next season, and bringing back some familiar faces could help out the roster.
Not only has the attacker proved his worth on a championship caliber team, but he still has close friends in Washington who wish he had still been with the team, and not with the Devils, for the Caps' Stanley Cup victory,
The fit is obvious for both parties, it's just a matter of the pieces falling into place for Johansson and the Caps. Hopefully, the two sides will reach an agreement on the open market, and the Swede can return to the team that gave him his first chance on NHL ice.
