The Fresh Prince of San Francisco could be on the move ahead of the July 31 trade deadline, with the St. Louis Cardinals emerging as a potential destination for the 30-year-old lefty.

Giants closer Will Smith is one of the most coveted assets believed to be available on the trade market. So far this season, the All-Star reliever has maintained a 1.98 ERA while converting a perfect 23 of a possible 23 save opportunities, good enough to rank third in the MLB and second in the National League.

We'll ignore his All-Star Game dinger to Joey Gallo, of course. You can understand why St. Louis is interested in the former Willie Mac Award winner.
However, the Cards are not alone. The Los Angeles Dodgers, Atlanta Braves, Milwaukee Brewers, and Texas Rangers have also inquired about Smith, looking to bolster their bullpens in anticipation of a playoff run.
Quality left-handed pitching is hard to come by in baseball today, especially in relief, as specialists dissipate. As a result, you can expect to see a feeding frenzy break out as the trade deadline approaches.
