Cardinals Fans' Old NSFW Terrible Tweets About Albert Pujols Surface After His Return to St. Louis
By Sean Facey
Albert Pujols brought Busch Stadium to its feet in his return to St. Louis this weekend. The Cardinals faithful even gave him a curtain call when he blasted a home run for the Angels.
But some of the fans partaking in the love weren't initially feeling the love back when he left for LA in the 2011 offseason.
That's right, the fans crying tears of joy during his triumphant return actually hoped that he'd get booed back in the day. Emotions definitely must have been running high back in 2011.
Other fans weren't quite as friendly in their distaste for his free agent defection, of course. Some had NSFW threats for the famed slugger, saying, for example, that they hoped he "snapped his wrist" on his birthday.
The prevailing theme in most of the tweets, actually, was pure hatred for the fact that he signed such a large deal in Los Angeles.
Yikes! It just never ends!
It's understandable to be frustrated when one of the best players in franchise history chases money in free agency, but wishing ill on him is simply uncalled for.
For all the love Cardinals fans gave Pujols upon his return, they definitely didn't feel it when he left.
