The coronavirus has infected over 100,000 people in the United States, including several figures in the sports world. Now we have another to sadly add to that list.
Former St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Jim Edmonds revealed he's been hospitalized and is awaiting his test results for the coronavirus. He shared a picture of himself in a hospital bed with a mask covering his face via his Instagram story.

The official Cardinals Twitter account wish him well after learning of the news. Edmonds revealed he's been sick and thought he'd be able to fight through the symptoms, but he's now getting tested because of how bad his condition has gotten.
The 49-year-old spent eight seasons with the Cards, posting a .285 average with 241 home runs during his tenure. He was also a member of the 2006 Cardinals roster that went on to win the World Series.

Less than 24 hours after he forced a game 7 with a 12th inning walkoff bomb, Jim Edmonds came up with one of the clutchest catches in MLB history. Chills.#stlcards pic.twitter.com/bmBN8vEwJy
He also spent eight other combined seasons with the Angels, Cubs, Padres, Brewers and Reds. The eight-time Gold Glove winner and four-time All-Star finished his career with an admirable .284/.376/.527 slash line and finished in the top five of the MVP voting twice.
We wish the former MLB star a speedy recovery.
