Cardinals Manager Mike Shildt Caps Amazing Year by Getting Engaged on Christmas
This year's Christmas holiday brought cheer in more ways than one for St. Louis Cardinals manager Mike Shildt.
Shildt won the National League's Manager of the Year award in 2019 and guided his club to the NLCS in his first full year at the helm, but he's got even more reason to celebrate heading into 2020. Here's Shildt's excited bride-to-be accepting his proposal on Christmas Eve.
Shildt's now-fiancé, Michelle Segrave, posted the news on Instagram on Christmas Day. It's unclear how long the two have been dating, but her Instagram story is fairly active throughout the year, especially with her in attendance at Cardinals games.
She was also right behind him when he was presented with the NL Manager of the Year award!
Shildt, who is 132-99 since taking over as manager of the Cardinals, will have a busy year in helping the team get back to the playoffs and planning a wedding with his fiancé.
