Cardinals Pitcher Jack Flaherty Disputes Trevor Plouffe's Report of Supposed MLB Return
By Michael Luciano
Former Minnesota Twins third baseman and current MLB podcaster Trevor Plouffe got Twitter riled up when he tweeted out that the league is considering a makeshift Spring Training that starts on June 10 and a restart to the 2020 season on July 1.
This was news to a lot of people, including St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Jack Flaherty, who claims that he has heard nothing about the league restarting anytime soon.
You'd think if anyone would know when baseball is about ready to start again, it's a guy who actually has to play in the games instead of a random ex-player who is trying to get people to listen to his podcast.
The league has discussed alternate plans for starting the season, including playing the games in a controlled environment in either Florida or Arizona. Unfortunately, per Flaherty's insight, we are no closer to any sort of tangible restart plan.
Plouffe might have some sources within the league, but we are more inclined to believe Flaherty when it comes to figuring out when baseball will start back up.
