Cardinals Lineup
Paul DeJong has had success off of Mets starter Jacob deGrom, which is a key matchup to watch this evening. In eight at bats, DeJong is batting .375 with a homer off the Mets righty. He hits second tonight behind leadoff man Matt Carpenter.
On the bump tonight for the Redbirds will be Jack Flaherty. The right-hander is 4-3 on the year with a 4.08 ERA. Flaherty didn't last four innings in his last start on Saturday, pitching only 3.2 frames against the Cubs.
Mets Lineup
The Mets are coming off a 10-run game in the back half of a doubleheader against the Yankees Tuesday night. Rookie phenom Pete Alonso launched his 22nd home run in that one, and continues to show he has extraordinary power despite his tender age.
Pitching for the Metropolitans tonight is Jacob deGrom, the defending NL Cy Young champ. The righty hasn't come close to being the pitcher he was last year, as he is 3-6 with a 3.45 ERA on the season.
