Cardinals Lineup
As for the Cardinals bats, they've been inconsistent throughout the season. They've recorded 101 home runs (23rd in the MLB), 335 RBIs (22nd) and possess a team batting average of .243 (23rd).
If the Cards want to get off on the right foot in this series, their lineup is going to need to show up early and often.
Right hander Michael Wacha will take the mound for St. Louis Friday night. In his lone start against the Padres this season, Wacha allowed just one run over 5 2/3 innings.
Padres Lineup
LHP Eric Lauer will be on the mound for Friday night's contest. The 24-year-old pitcher has been brilliant over the past two months, allowing just 26 runs with an ERA of 2.72 since the start of May.
The bats for San Diego have also been superb throughout the season, flexing their muscles by smacking 121 homers, good for 11th in baseball. But, they have had a hard time finding consistency with their bats in regards to batting average, where they rank 22nd with a .243 percentage.
As these two ball clubs continue their push towards the postseason, we should be in for an exciting series starting Friday night.
