The St Louis Cardinals (26-27) and Philadelphia Phillies (32-22) will square off tonight in Game 2 of a three-game series at Citizens Bank Park.
How to Live Stream the Game
First pitch is slated for 7:05 p.m. ET. The game will be broadcast on NBCSP and FSMW, live streaming will become available on the MLB streams subreddit.
The first place Phillies took Game 1 last night by a score of 4-3. Nick Pivetta settled down after a rough first inning to deliver five solid frames of work. The Phillies bullpen would combine for four innings of shutout baseball while allowing only one hit to secure the win.
Cardinals Lineup
Dexter Fowler will lead off for the Cardinals, with Paul Goldschmidt looking to turn things around and batting second. Red-hot Paul DeJong looks to continue his impressive start. He bats third and plays shortstop.
Genesis Cabrera will make his major league debut on the mound tonight, having been promoted from Triple-A on Wednesday morning.
The Cardinals have been sputtering lately, losers of seven of their last 10 games, and now find themselves one game under .500 and in fourth in the NL Central. Luckily for St Louis they are still only four games back of the first place Cubs, so a win streak could see a drastic change in the standings.
Paul Goldschmidt hasn't really hit his stride yet, but he is still having a solid year at the plate (.808 OPS) and posted two hits last night. Paul DeJong has been arguably the best Cardinals hitter, with a .904 OPS.
Phillies Lineup
Andrew McCutchen leads off for Philadelphia, with Jean Segura and Bryce Harper waiting their turn just behind him. Rhys Hoskins is hitting cleanup ahead of star catcher J.T. Realmuto.
Aaron Nola will be on the hill for the Phillies, who has looked better his past few starts. He owns a 4.53 ERA and has struck out 66 batters across 57.2 innings pitched.
The first place Phillies now sit at 10 games over .500, and they have been playing great baseball of late, with seven wins in their last 10 outings. The offense has been solid, despite the lack of contribution from $330 million dollar man Bryce Harper. Harper did have two hits last night, but he is yet to break out of his funk dating back to mid April and is still hitting just .232.
